About

The Doonside Technology High School Alumni Association Inc is all about bringing together former students and staff of DTHS and supporting the School. It also has a secondary role in helping to maintain the Old Lions Foundation’s annual scholarship.

The scholarship was established by past students of North Sydney Technical High School which closed in 1969, four years after Doonside Technology High School was founded. After closure of the school, a thriving alumni association – The Old Lions – was established and through the next 50 years The Old Lions held an Annual Alumni Dinner and produced an alumni newsletter.
On the 50th Anniversary of the closure of North Sydney Tech., it was decided to wind up The Old Lions (no one was getting younger) and at the final luncheon, attended by some 300 Old Lions, the decision was made to create a scholarship fund from the funds raised by the Old Lions.
After an extensive search Doonside Technology High School was chosen as the recipient of the annual scholarship as it best represented the values and style of the old North Sydney Tech.
The Doonside Technology High School Alumni Association is open to all past students of both Doonside and North Sydney Tech and also open to all teachers past and present of both schools.
Its purpose is to foster friendships made during school years and to support the School through funds and events and to help promote the School to the wider community.
